Union High School Student Wins First Place at Voice Competition

Christina Arroyo won first place in Senior Voice at the Northwest Division Competition of the Music Teachers National Association held on Saturday, January 16th at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon.  She will compete in the National Finals of the Music Teachers National Association to be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico on March 20-24. 

Arroyo, the daughter of Christopher and Mary Anne Arroyo, is a Junior at Union High School in Camas.  She placed third in the Washington State High School District Solo and Ensemble Soprano competition in 2009. In addition to singing, Christina plays piano and competes on the swimming and tennis teams at Union.

The three-tiered MTNA competitions begin at the state level. Winners of each State Competition advance to the Division Competition. Division Winners then proceed to the National Finals.
