Open House Schedules in English or Spanish

Evergreen Public Schools welcomes our families and their Fall 2012 kindergarten students!

If you or someone you know has a student entering kindergarten, don't miss your chance to register! If your child will be five-years-old, on or before August 31, 2012, they can register for the upcoming school year beginning April 9. 

Please bring child's birth certificate, proof of enrollment, immunization forms and district enrollment forms - available HERE and in SPANISH and RUSSIAN. For a full list of required immunizations, please click HERE. These forms are also available at every elementary school beginning April 9.

You can find out which school is in your neighborhood by checking the county website:  www.clark.wa.gov/treasurer/property/index.html.  Just type in your street address and hit "Go" and then to your account tab.  If you still have questions, please call Elementary Education at 604-4024 or the Transportation Department at 604-4950.

Once you've registered, don't forget to come to the open house! Meet the principal, teachers and staff, tour the school and get your questions answered. The full schedule is available HERE and at your elementary school. We'll see you there!

Preparing for Kindergarten

Starting kindergarten is a big milestone for both you and your child.  Please read over the following information to help make this important transition a successful one.

Before the Kindergarten open house:

• Please talk to your child about what to expect.  This will help her/him feel more comfortable.


• Your child may be expected to spend some time away from you with the teachers and their future classmates.  If you know your child finds it extremely difficult being away from you, please try to bring another adult to the open house.  That way that person can stay with your child while you meet the school staff.


• Your child may go for a short bus ride as part of the open house.  Please call your child's school for more details.

Before the first day of school:

• Copy of the Birth Certificate:
  You will need to provide the school with a copy of your child’s birth certificate, passport, or hospital certificate.  For children born in Washington State, you can obtain a copy of the birth certificate by calling 397-8414.  The fee of $20 must be paid before your request can be processed.
  
  
• Copy of Immunization Records:
  Your child’s immunizations must be up-to-date. The Clark County Health Department at 1601 E. Fourth Plain Blvd has an immunization clinic that is available to everyone.  Clinic hours are Monday – Friday 8:00am – 11:00 am and 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm.  You may also call 397-8089 to schedule an appointment at the clinic.
  
  
• Other Documents:
  If your child has any special medical/educational needs, please provide the school with those records.

NOTE: You are not required to have the above listed information prior to the open house.

We are looking forward to meeting you and your child.  If you are not able to attend the open house in the spring, please give your child a chance to visit the school before that first day and let your child know you are excited about her/him starting.
