First Independent's Ready to Give Campaign is supporting the Evergreen School District Foundation and the Principal's Checkbook with a $5,000 matching grant. First Independent will match your donation, dollar for dollar, up to $5,000.

Each year, principals at schools throughout the Evergreen School District use a special fund to help families in need. The money from the 'Principal's Checkbook' has been used for everything from new shoes to warm jackets to laundry detergent. Below are just a few examples of the way these special funds have helped our students:

"A mom didn't have enough to sign her son up for Little League, but he was able to join with a $25 donation from the Principal’s Checkbook."

"Checkbook funds were used to purchase two winter coats for students."

"We purchased two belts for one of our students."

Funds in the Principal's Checkbook come from donations through the Evergreen School District Foundation, and that's where you can help right now.
