Elementary Enhancements

Below is a list of enhancements for buildings not being replaced. Evergreen Public Schools plans to complete these projects in the six years following the passage of the bond resolution. Information for secondary schools coming soon!

 

Burnt Bridge Creek

Capital Renewal:

  • Apply masonry sealer and exterior paint to preserve envelope integrity    
  • Paint interior classrooms and public spaces    
  • Replace carpeting throughout    
  • Replace/upgrade HVAC system     
  • Install grass panel where portable was removed    
  • Infill abandoned playground area by portables

Building Improvements:

  • Add a second water bottle filling station    
  • Replace classroom furniture and upgrade media center furniture    
  • Add voice amplification sound system in the classrooms    
  • Replace phone system    
  • Improve gym/multipurpose sound system

Safety/Security:

  • Create a more secure (but welcoming) main entrance    
  • Change hardware so classroom doors are lockable from the inside    
  • Replace exterior lamps w/LEDs for efficiency and safety    
  • Add a surveillance system (main entrance, parking lot, play fields, main office)    
  • Add motion sensor lights to portables

Columbia Valley

Capital Renewal:

  • Apply masonry sealer and exterior paint to preserve envelope integrity    
  • Repair leaks around skylights    
  • Paint interior classrooms and public spaces    
  • Add card reader to the elevator    
  • Retro-commission HVAC    
  • Replace cafeteria tables     
  • Add a bollard to avoid additional damage, repair gate at NE pedestrian gate    
  • Improve drainage on the playfield

Building Improvements:

  • Add student display and whiteboards in co-op area    
  • Upgrade media center furniture    
  • Upgrade signage to District standard, add directional signage    
  • Add Covered Play structure with wall ball    
  • Add a second water bottle filling station    
  • Add voice amplification sound system in the classrooms    
  • Replace phone system

Safety/Security:

  • Add a surveillance system (main entrance, parking lot, play fields, main office only)    
  • Upgrade parking lot lighting to LED

Crestline

Capital Renewal:

Building Improvements:

  • Create right-in, right-out on 7th Street (confirm with City of Vancouver)

Endeavour

  • Paint and re-nail exterior soffits, beams, and trim    
  • Repaint interior classroom walls    
  • Add a card reader to the elevator    
  • Retro-commission HVAC    
  • Improve drainage on the playfield    
  • Upgrade bells, intercom    

Building Improvements:

  • Create storage under main stairway    
  • Upgrade signage to District standard, add directional signage

  • Extend parking lot between HAR & PAC (near trash compactor)    
  • Add a second water bottle filling station    
  • New CR furniture (including 50% portable CRs and Media)    
  • Add voice amplification sound system in the classrooms    
  • Replace phone system    
  • Improve gym/multipurpose sound system

Safety/Security:

  • Motion sensor lights to portables    
  • Add surveillance system (main entrance, parking lot, play fields, main office only)    
  • Create a more secure (but welcoming) main entrance    
  • Replace exterior lighting with LED’s for efficiency and safety

  • Replace old technology in the Library Office    
  • Replace classroom furniture and upgrade media center furniture    
  • Add voice amplification sound system in the classrooms    
  • Replace phone system    
  • Remove and replace worn floorcovering throughout    
  • Improve playground drainage

Safety/Security:

  • Create a more secure (but welcoming) main entrance    
  • Rekey interior and exterior hardware to district standard (so classroom doors are lockable from the inside)    
  • Upgrade the surveillance system    
  • Add motion sensor lights on the portables    
  • Replace/upgrade clocks/bells/intercom system and tie into UPS battery for safety    
  • Update Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) to cellular or radio    

Mill Plain

Capital Renewal:

  • Create more secure pathway between buildings for safety    

Orchards

Capital Renewal:

  • Replace treads on main stair    
  • Apply masonry sealer and exterior paint to preserve envelope integrity    
  • Replace roofing (warranty expires in 00)    
  • Repaint interior classroom walls    
  • Install card reader on elevator
