Elementary School Boundary Review Forums
Evergreen Public Schools is preparing to open its 21st elementary school next fall. Part of this process entails formation of a committee to redraw the boundaries of some of the existing elementary schools. The committee, which is comprised of parent representatives from the potentially affected elementary schools, has been meeting regularly to come up with a new boundaries proposal. You can view a map of this proposal beginning on Friday, November 9, at any of these six elementary schools, which are the ones affected by the proposal:
Burton, Fircrest, Hearthwood, Image, Orchards and Sunset
You are invited to share your questions and feedback on these proposed changes in several different ways. The first is a series of three public forums. The purpose of these forums is to further explain the committee’s proposals, as well as to gather community input. If you are unable to attend a forum, you may submit written comments and questions to the committee by filling out a comment form, available in your school’s office which will then be forwarded to the committee. Once the forums are completed, the committee will meet again to review the public comments, make changes to their proposal as appropriate, and ultimately, forward their final recommendation to the Evergreen Public Schools Board of Directors.
