Get Involved

Volunteer Opportunities in Evergreen Public Schools include Art Discovery, Pen Pal Program, Lunch Buddy Program, Classroom Volunteers, Tutoring, Teen Mentoring Program, Evergreen School District Foundation, Evergreen Citizens for Schools, PTO-PTA and many more.  Below is a list of some ways you can get involved and help support children and families in our schools. We encourage you to contact the Family & Community Resource Center Outreach Coordinator for more information about opportunities for involvement.

Donations to Benefit Families in Need
Donations can be made online through the Evergreen School District Foundation. To earmark donations for the FCRC Program, simply enter "FCRC Program" in the "Reference" section at https://secure.affinipay.com/pages/evergreen-school-district-114-foundation/payments

Classroom Volunteers & Special Events
Volunteers are always needed to support learning in the classroom, special projects and activities. Children benefit greatly from reading with a buddy and getting one-on-one academic support.

Lunch Buddy Program
The Lunch Buddy Program is one-on-one mentoring that provides a child with an on-going relationship with a caring adult. Volunteers commit to having lunch with a student once a week for the entire school year.  You can read together, play an assortment of fun games, or just hang out and talk. Forty-five minutes a week, it’s that simple.

Art Discovery Program
The Art Discovery Program provides K-5 students with an opportunity to explore great art in the classroom by using fine art reproductions. The goal of the program is to expose students to different types of art and art techniques and to teach them Basic Elements and Principles of Art. Volunteers teach a monthly, theme-based lesson and complete a related art project with the students. Training is provided and no experience is needed. For more information, visit artdiscovery.info

Basic Needs & Miscellaneous
The Family & Community Resource Centers are always in need of some basic items- food, clothing, and toiletries for families in crisis. We often provide students with socks, shoes, school supplies and other items, and rely heavily on donations to fill this need. Craft supplies, board games for the Parent Lending Library and Lunch Buddy Program, snacks for afterschool clubs and activities, raffle prizes for family events, are always appreciated.

Do you have a special skill or talent you would like to share with others?  Do you want to volunteer but not sure how?  We are happy to talk with you to find the right volunteer experience for you.  We would love to invite you to be a part of our school community!

All volunteers in Evergreen Public Schools must complete the Volunteer Application Process and receive notification of clearance from Evergreen Public Schools before participating in volunteer activities. Approved applicants are permitted to volunteer in all Evergreen Public Schools for two school years.
