According to Board Policy 2413, each school can grant core academic equivalencies for high school career and technical courses after they have been reviewed and approved for equivalency credit by a district team. Courses which have been accepted as meeting core requirements, including graduation requirements, will be recorded on the student’s transcript using the academic high school department designation and title.  These courses will be noted in the course catalog.  Entrance requirements for each college or university may vary.  It is important to research each institution’s admission requirements.
For specific questions, see your individual counselor.

Earning High School Credits in Middle School

A middle school student may earn high school credits by successfully completing the following courses in the Evergreen Public Schools: Algebra-based Physics, Career and Technical Education Gateway to Technology, and any mathematics course at the Integrated 1/Algebra or above level. Students transferring in to our high schools from other districts’ middle schools may also bring up high schoolequivalent World Language credits.

The student and/or family must initiate the process in order to have the credits and grades posted to the student’s high school transcript. It is advisable to begin this process during the junior year as there are some nuances in the credit/grade transfer process that may negatively impact the student’s Grade Point Average and subsequent class rank if posted too early. Please consult with your high school counselor regarding the appropriate paperwork, process and timeline.
