Legacy High School
Small School - High Quality

Discover a unique school to help you unlock the learner you can be and become an active member of a caring community.

Legacy High School gives students a chance to earn a high school diploma in a smaller, more personal and caring alternative school environment.  Emphasizing both academic and social skills, our purpose since our founding in 1977 has been to provide a high quality education for students with unique preferences and needs related to learning.  We empower learners to successfully meet lifelong challenges.

Legacy offers two different programs through which students address the learning and competencies that are essential for graduation and life.  Both programs, Project Study and Independent Study, focus on language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies as well as personal growth and development.

Although there really is no “typical” Legacy High School student, one common characteristic is the desire to pursue one’s own education and be responsible for one’s own learning.  Students enjoy a unique mentor-protégé relationship with their teachers, with whom they collaborate to design an individualized Student Learning Plan to meet their specific learning goals.  In addition to classroom instruction, out-of-school learning experiences are frequent.  Legacy High School students display a fine blend of independence and curiosity about the world.
