Elementary Intervention & Prevention – Supporting Every Learner
At Evergreen Public Schools, we believe all students deserve the support they need to grow and succeed. Our Elementary Intervention and Prevention Model is designed to give students extra help in reading and math—when and where they need it—so they can access the full curriculum and keep moving forward.
This support is part of our larger Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and works alongside classroom instruction (Tier I), not in place of it. Our trained staff provide targeted help based on student data, using proven strategies and tools that are matched to each child’s needs.
Two types of support help students thrive:
Intervention: Focuses on students who need extra help with specific skills they haven’t yet mastered.
Prevention: Helps all students by strengthening areas where many have struggled in past years.
Our approach is:
Equitable: Designed to meet students where they are
Flexible: Adjusted throughout the year based on student needs
Collaborative: Built on partnerships between classroom and intervention staff
